In the New Testament we get a line or two about a patriarch’s or matriarch’s life. As in the book of Hebrews chapter 11 when it says, by faith Abraham, by faith, Isaac, by faith Moses-we get a capsule of one of the saint’s lives. But in the Old Testament-we get the dirt! The dirt the matriarchs and patriarchs were actually drug through to achieve their place in what is called the Hall of Faith.
In DEGREES OF EXIT we get some of the dirt Delphine Reed was drug through to earn her place in the Hall of Faith.
Reading DEGREES OF EXIT evokes all kinds of thoughts and questions.
But the hardest question was, LORD, am I exhibiting any of Mr. Man’s or Rev’s traits?
Thank You for being so transparent,
Pastor Howard Leslie
- "I was in a fog for most of the book because there but by the grace of God there goes I. I was writing anecdotes in the margins LOL, but I have not stopped crying after reading Exit Cinderella...Enter the Queen!!! I have a running story about how my mom treated me like Cinderella but in the end, I was the one she knew she could depend on.' So, Minister Delphine I know exactly how you felt, and I know it's God's grace and mercy that continues to carry us!!! Thanks again "❤️ ❤️

‘I could hardly wait to get my hands on this book. This book is riveting! In Degrees of Exit, the author has written transparently about her marriages and life experiences. She told her story, flaws and all, without excuses so that we can acknowledge our own truths. Delphine Reed’s story is also punctuated with many examples of people who showed her love and compassion in the midst of her struggle. I highly recommend this book to anyone going through emotional and physical abuse. I believe it will be liberating, and give you the faith to trust God for your own exit strategy.”

This book is an eye opener. I could not put this book down! I see this as a tool/manual for anyone who is in an abusive environment, or for those who are in the beginning stages of a relationship who see subtle signs. This is not a ‘one size fits all’, but it gives you insight into how to avoid the pitfalls of abuse. I will read this again, and again. It is “a must have” in your book collection as a guideline for how to recognize the abusive behavior of others. Delphine, thank you for sharing this part of your journey with the world.

"In Degrees of Exit, Delphine Reed candidly describes life in two abusive marriages. Seldom does a Christian wife write so transparently about spousal abuse inflicted by a “Christian” spouse. This author has laid bare her experience and given God the glory for bringing her through. Her faith in God was the anchor which held her fast during the many years of emotional pain. As the abuse increased, so did her love for the Heavenly Father. This book not only shares her journey but provides hope for those in like situations. It reminds us that trouble won’t last always for God will provide an exit strategy."

"Degrees of Exit is a book whose time is at hand. Delphine Reed has laid bare the trials of her life so that others can experience healing. There are three things this book will reveal: You are not alone; you can get help and you can be free."
